An unintended expatriate blogger behind AtlasGardenWay

Hello, I am Lucas

Project manager. Parent. Expat living in Zurich, Switzerland.

A few years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually unfolded into a new chapter of life abroad.

How It Started

Relocating to Switzerland wasn’t part of the long-range plan. Like many expat moves, it began as a work opportunity and grew into something much bigger.

The first few months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks felt more complicated than they should.

The Adjustment Period

There was culture shock, doubt, and plenty of on-the-job learning. Gradually, routines took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt secure.

Why I Built AtlasGardenWay

Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was missing was a candid, everyday family viewpoint.

This site aims to close that gap — practical guidance grounded in real life in Switzerland.

What this site covers (and excludes)

This site is:

  • Real-world experience from living in Switzerland
  • Centered on family life and daily realities
  • Updated whenever a genuine change occurs

This site isn't:

  • Not a tourism-board resource
  • Not a paid review platform
  • Not a generic travel diary

Looking Forward

Our stay in Switzerland continues, and the learning journey goes on. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.

If you have questions about family life in Zurich or anywhere in Switzerland, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Best regards,

Lucas
